Raider Raza Buzz: Texans Runaway with Victory..
PROTECTION-PROTECTION-PROTECTION
Well the Raiders are who we though they where. They continue to play stellar defense, this week holding the Texans to -5 yard passing, yet playing awful offense and falling apart in the 4th quarter. Nothing new to report the problem is the same:
The Raiders can’t/ don’t protect the passer and aren't holding the ball giving up 5 sacks and 3 fumbles.
SEA-BASS FLOPS: 0/3 field goals
Home Grown Morrison
Morrison picked up a fumble and ran it into the endzone and into the stands..One of the better moments of the game just before the first half ended..i think Sapp caused the fumble..Morrison is a ball hawk always near the ball and always in on the tackles. I cannot say enough how inspiring it is to see him making tackles, interceptions, recovering fumbles, leading by example and being proud to be a Raider..Moss this years KFC:
I have never seen a Raider player Hated and Boo’d so much as last years’ Kerry Collins. But yesterday Moss was met with a huge round of Booos. Keep in mind that only the most loyal fans, the die hard fans and season ticket holders were in attendance yesterday..and they expect effort and LOYALTY!!
Sapp came out the game in the first quarter, after getting poked in the eye, complained to the refs, then pointed at a Texans player, came out for a play, you could the smoke coming out of his ears from the sidelines, then came back in and just knocked down and ran his guy over on his way to Carr..Warning..Do not piss this man off!!!
12th Man MIA..
Despite it being the chilliest week of the year Sunday was a warm day in
12th man didn’t show up today, but even without Homefield advantage the Defense still dominated. It would be nice to make some noise and raise the level of excitement..
Porter Watch…
Despite being sidelined by a mysterious injury Porter pulled up his sleeves and started flexing and kissing his biceps like pro wrestlings Ric Flair..
We all heard about Porter wearing a championship belt during the preseason along with his F&*# you shirt.. Is Wrestling next for Porter:
Rumor has it that Porter was dancing in the locker room. I hope he doesn’t aggravate his injury..
Hells Bells..
It was uninspiring to see Sea-Bass lead us out of the tunnel. For the non regulars, it is a Raider tradition for the Hells Bells to come on before the Raiders to come out of the tunnel while the crowd goes n uts; it still gives me chills.. For the longest time Wisniesky led us out then it was Kennedy, Robbins (for his comeback game) Sapp for a year,
Randall Williams...giveth and taketh away..for every good play he makes he drops a ball or fumbles the ball away..I don't think he would see the field on most teams..
Safety Deep..I was puzzled why despite shutting down the Texans passing game, both corners playing well, and the Texans committing to the run Shweigart stayed deep continuingly allowing them run the ball down down the middle..
BEST PUNTER..at the end of his career Lechler might go down as the greatest punter ever. You can hear him boot the ball all the way into the 3rd deck. Always consistent and able to make TD saving tackles..
Rare Sight:
Mark your calendars Dec 3, 2006..Raider won a challenge..
Burgess Take..
After the game Burgess was interviewed and he said:
Mentioned playing for pride and that you got to give it all you got…
He is pleased with Shell and the coaching staff, but it’s the players that need to execute and get it done…
Loves being a Raider cause everywhere the Raiders go even if it’s
Benches 480 and has a 40 ½ vertical leap..
Said he is from the Dirty South where they like to bust a pose and that’s why he folds his arms after sacks..
When asked about his college and high school career he mentioned he played tight end and linebacker they asked him if he has lobbied Shell (or the coaching staff) to get some snaps on offense, Burgess response:” I do what they tell me to do.”
Isn’t it refreshing to hear from our only current Pro-bowler and leader of the team that he submits and succumbs to the judgment and authority of the coaching staff…HINT HINT..
