Dear Marc Badain,
My name is Roberto L and I am writing because I am extremely disappointed with the way the parking situation was handled on Sunday October 29.
My friends and I are season ticket holders and we travel from all over the California to the Coliseum on Saturday to be the first in line and camp out overnight besides the freeway so that we may have the luxury of parking together and we may tailgate together in the first row on Sunday. We are loyal patrons who never miss a game and support the organization for many years by buying season tickets, parking, concessions, merchandise and demonstrating loyalty and camaraderie. In addition, we never cause any trouble, we are a group of professionals who enjoy getting together 8 times a year- rain or shine, winning or losing.
While this may not seem important to you, it is to us. We have established a presence in the first row much like other tailgate groups for eg: Black Hole, South Shield etc...Every game we meet fans from all over the world who come by for a visit.
On Sunday, October 29th after camping out overnight and waiting patiently for the gates to open we were disappointed that the North Gate opened 2 minutes early and the parking attendants made an error and assigned 7 cars into our regular spots. After immediately speaking with the attendants all that was necessary was to move the cars one row back and we could have proceeded to enjoy the beautiful Sunday afternoon like normal. Instead the parking supervisor said it wasn't possible to move the cars one row back. WHY???
Nobody had gotten out and everybody understood that the parking attendants made a mistake. Why not correct it and go on with our day????
Instead, after we explain the situations the supervisors and police were brought and they were insulting, condescending, disrespectful and they treated us very rudely. Why???
Why was it necessary to be so rude. We earned the right to camp out in the first row by being the first patrons to show up. We earned the right to complain by paying for our tickets and our parking. And our reputation and camaraderie should have earned us more respect. Instead we where all broke up and it ruined our Sunday tailgate.
We hope that you will address the problem.
Respectfully,
Roberto L
Loyal Season Ticket Holder
UPDATE: I'd like to thank the Parking supervisor for handling the situation in a prompt and courteous matter.
