Raider Raza Buzz: Raider Defense beat Pittsburgh 20-13

Despite 98 yards of offense and with our backs against the endzone with Pittsburg getting ready to tie and take control of the game, our D wanted this game and took manners into their own hands scoring twice, intercepting 4 passes, 5 sacs, constant pressure and stopping Pittsburg twice inside the red zone in the fourth quarter and when the dust cleared the Raiders stood victorious..

It doesn’t get more exciting than this.
The Raiders young aggressive opportunistic defense that dominated the Steelers for the entire game cause the offense didn't show up.

Carr after the game ”I don’t want people to think of me as a one dimensional [special teams] player” Carr is a playmaker he makes tackles and causes fumbles on kick offs, he is an excellent kick returner and he can read defense well and he can take one back to the house for 100 yards. Did you notice his calm demeanor after the TD. He later signed the ball and threw it into the black hole.

Moss improves last week he dropped 4 balls, this week he only dropped 2..He leads the league in drops..
In addition he had a hissy-fit at the end of the first half. he repeatedly hit the table with his helmet and then proceeded to kick it down. The table later said "It didn't phase me when Moss hit me with the helmet, but it was f%#ed up when he kicked me, i was OK and back up in the second half.."

Attention: Raider fans DO NOT DO THE WAVE. Save the wave for the A’s games.

I never have seen so many non-Raider fans at a game. Thanks for coming and helping us sell out.

Morrison is a third round steal who grew up in the black hole and is proud to be a Raider. He is playing at a pro bowl level in just his second year.

9 of the 11 starters have been in the league less than 5 years. Until the O catches up the Raiders will be a defensive team that will score points and cause turnovers. They are also stingy giving up 2 TD’s in 3 games.

Pittsburgh Defense made a lot of stupid penalties that our O didn’t capitalize on.

Lechler is consistent with his deep kicks and can make tackles too

What the hell was that 3rd and one play for a loss that got turned into a 2nd and 12 play all about???

PORTER SUITED UP & was on his best behavior on the sideline and came through with a difficult catch and a good tackle after an interception. The response from Raider Nation was mixed.

Raider Raza Buzz: Raiders 22 Cardinals 9

The Raiders are who we thought they were. Despite controlling the game defensively, the offense missed out on too many scoring opportunities with dropped passes, stupid penalties, and turnovers. Most teams aren’t going to let you off the hook…

MVP of the game: Derrick Burgess. He dominated and was all over Leinart all game: batting down a pass causing an INT, 2 Sacs, constant abuse, and psychological trauma. Without Burgess we don’t win this game. He set the tone for the defense for 4 quarters..

Moss made a great Moss-like catch for a TD and came through big time on a lot of 3rd and longs, but dropped 4 easy passes including one off his fingertips in the end zone. If Moss makes those catches this game is out of reach early and Moss gets offensive player of the week. Instead we have to wonder if Moss is no longer dominant. He set the tone for the offense: played very well but made lots of mistakes and missed out on opportunities..

A closer look at Raiders on First Down ..

Here are the Raiders results on first down for the first 15 first downs of the game against the hated broncos:
1. Jordan runs right guard for 4 yards
2. Jordan runs right tackle for 1 yard
3. Jordan runs left guard for -5 yards
4. Jordan runs left guard for 6 yards
5. Fargas runs right tackle for 6 yards
6. Jordan runs right tackle for 6 yards
7. Fargas runs up the middle for 3 yards
8. Jordan runs right tackle for 5 yards
9. Jordan runs right tackle for 5 yards
10 Jordan runs up the middle for 1 yard
11.Jordan runs right tackle for no gain
12.Jordan runs right guard for -1 yards
13.Jordan runs left end for -1 yards
14.Jordan runs right end for 2 yards
15.Jordan runs left guard for -2 yards

Yes folks Walsh decided to run the ball everytime on first down. We didn't even bother to threaten to go deep. This has to be the most unimaginative, predictable playcalling I have ever seen.
Special Thanks to CalicoJack for the researching & gathering the data.

Raider Raza Buzz: Raiders 3 Denver 13

I’ll credit Walsh with one brilliant play: The misdirection with Crockett for a 10 yard gain was nice; too bad the brilliant plays are rare

We can’t blame the coaches for penalties, dropped balls and turnovers But the complete lack of urgency in the 4th quarter was painful. Equally painful where the 15 straight runs on first down..

Jordan talks the talk but his poor blocking, average running ability, slippery hands and mental mistakes are a greater indicator of his play

Jordan “I fucked up on national tv..” lack of composure..

Speaking of conduct detrimental to the team:8 false starts is pathetic; Four false starts by Slaughter is inexcusable

Why is Whitted starting and where was Curry????

Is Morant a bad practice player??? I can’t figure out why he isn’t on the field.

For a team that struggles with pass protect we don’t have enough screens or quick slants.

On HDTV is swear Denver was in the neutral zone all night

Moss continues to disappoint. It is too bad he can’t be a leader like Sapp is on D, instead he insists on running poor routes at half speed then bad mouthing the QB. 4 years ago he catches the jump ball in the endzone at its highest point, last night he waited for it to drop and get broken up..

The D played well enough for us to win, but they still need to get better at stopping the run. They hung in there..

Raider Raza Buzz: Raiders 21 Cleveland 24

Tale of two halves

-IS MOSS INJURED???? or has he lost his speed and his skills are deteriorating. He missed two jump balls, was a step behind a deep pass and took many plays off. Seriously Moss it’s hard to take you serious when you lethargically stroll into the huddle just as they are about to break and head into the play. His reputation will merit another chance and the benefit of the doubt… but remember this when the Raiders were getting beat in the 4th quarter in the Superbowl Jerry Rice was still playing hard and fighting, Moss no longer fights for ball or plays aggressive and it shows...

-BAD COACHING One of the coaches upstairs seriously dropped the ball by not challenging the spot on the Curry play in the 4th quarter. Somebody has to be held accountable!!!! I had a good angle and I would bet anything that he crosses the first down by at least a yard. SEE THE PLAY HERE

-Even though COOPER got flagged for excessive aggression and force, I'm not mad and I'll take that penalty every week

-IDEA: Lets get Art Shell, Fred Biletnikof, Tom Walsh, Jerry Pouter and Dr. Phil all together in a small room.

-Pass protection improved slightly, but has a long way to go.

-George Atkinson said, regarding the excuse that the Defense played well but got tired because the offense is so inept, “Jack (Tatum) and I did not get tired and we played Defense, Special Teams, Kick Return Coverage and I returned Punts, cause I loved to play…”

-Our kickers both made TD saving tackles. I bet you our kickers will kick your kickers ass in any bar in the country.

-PONDERISM Speaking of Sea Bass the guy had a great off season shedding some weight and with his renewed focus has been extremely accurate in preseason and regular season yet we choose to go for it behind a weak line, instead of kicking a field goal for a tie in the 4th quarter.

-I did like the deep pass by Curry, since he is an ex-QB but he underthrew it probably as a result of being cold. I hope we run this play again!!

-POSITIVES Nnamdi came through with 2 picks, Jordan had a great day with a long TD, Burgess got 2 sacs, Walter came out alive, Super Sam recover a fumble into the endzone, a sellout crowd (not really but who is counting)

-FROM THE STANDS: Gallery cut your #%&* hair maybe then you can make a #%&* Block.

-Fargas is fast (much faster than Jordan) but runs and leaps recklessly and thus injury prone.

-It was uninspiring to see #36 Gibson lead us out the tunnel.

-On Burgess second sac the nobody bothered blocking Burgess. Run Run Jones could have made the sac on that play.
-Our Kickers will kick your kickers @$$!!!!
